Beginning Again

It’s been nearly a year since I last posted on this website. I took a reprieve for technical and personal reasons, but I’ve missed having this platform, and I’m ready to begin again. I’m writing this on a blustery cold day in Oxford, where I’m visiting my daughter—the day after a discouraging election. (I note that there’s a torn “Vote Labour” sign on the floor.) Meanwhile, back home, the news is about impeachment hearings, which my friend Diane described succinctly as ‘heinous bloviation’, and it certainly feels like we’re caught up in weird and ominous times.

Nevertheless, I’m still amazed, and I hope to renew my documentation of wonder and bemusement here.
